At present, the Public Weather Forecasting competencies are known as "Recommended Practices" and it is envisaged that within the next few years, they will become forecasting standards. This will require all operational forecasters to provide evidence of being competent in each of the competency criteria. In preparation for these recommended practices to become forecasting standards, the RTC is aligning its training courses directly with the competencies. The aim is also to provide existing operational forecasters with additional training in areas where there may be a few gaps in their knowledge. The survey below is geared to help identify the gaps and provide tailored training programs to facilitate continuous learning. Please take some time to complete the survey (it is anonymous) so that we can plan and implement the training events over the coming months.
